Arabic-language reference guide to end-of-service gratuity and arbitrary dismissal in Oman under the NEW Labour Law (Royal Decree 53/2023) and the Social Protection Law (RD 52/2023). General legal information, not legal advice — verify with Omani counsel or the Ministry of Labour (80077000).
Oman's new 2023 Labour Law (Art. 61) raised end-of-service gratuity to at least one month's basic wage per year of service (on the last basic wage), up from the old 15-day tier. Notice (Art. 38) is 30 days for monthly-paid workers, 15 for others. Arbitrary dismissal is remedied (Art. 11) by reinstatement or 3–12 months' gross wage, plus gratuity. A new expatriate savings scheme is expected to replace the lump sum by mid-2026 — verify timing.
