Tenancy, Rent & Eviction in Morocco: Your Rights (Law 67-12)

Arabic-language reference guide to residential tenancy, rent revision and eviction in Morocco under Law No. 67-12 (residential/professional leases) and Law No. 07-03 (rent revision). General legal information, not legal advice — verify with Moroccan counsel. Article numbers are indicative pending the official Bulletin Officiel.

In Morocco, rent cannot be revised within 3 years, then is capped at 8% (residential) and 10% (professional); very low rents (≤400 DH) can be raised up to 50% by the court. Eviction (congé) requires 2 months' notice for repossession/demolition, a 15-day cure on non-payment, and a final court decision — no self-help. Security deposit is capped at 2 months' rent and must be returned within one month of key handover (Art. 20).
