    Kuwait's Article 18 visa is the private-sector work-and-residence permit under a company sponsor: PAM issues the work permit, the Ministry of Interior the iqama. Transfer to a new employer without consent generally needs 3 years' service (earlier with the employer's release). From 1 July 2025 Article 18 workers need an employer-approved exit permit to leave. Withholding a passport is illegal. Dependent residence needs ~KD 800/month income.
