    GenIA-L for Search vs HAQQ

GenIA-L is a serious research layer over one of France's best legal corpora. Its boundary is that corpus, and, in its own terms, the part of it you have paid for.

13/15 funcționalități unde HAQQ este lider

    ÎncepeProgramează o demonstrație

    The short version

GenIA-L for Search answers legal questions in natural language "exclusively" from Lefebvre Dalloz's own databases, and its terms of use narrow that further: answers are produced from the Fonds Documentaires you subscribe to, not from the corpus as a whole. For a French practice already paying for Dalloz, Navis or ELnet, that is a genuinely good deal and a well-designed output format. For anyone whose work crosses a border, the ceiling is structural rather than a question of quality. HAQQ is built multi-jurisdiction across 200+ countries and includes the practice OS, matters, knowledge base, billing, that GenIA-L does not attempt.

    One publisher's corpus, by design

GenIA-L's strength and its limit are the same sentence: it answers "exclusively" from Lefebvre Dalloz's databases. That is what makes it reliable on French law and what makes it silent outside it.

Your answer is scoped to your subscription

The terms define the answer set as the Fonds Documentaires you have bought. Two firms asking the same question can get different answers depending on their subscription tier, worth knowing before you evaluate it.

A research module, not a practice platform

GenIA-L for Search is defined in its own terms as a module producing syntheses in response to queries. Matters, billing, document management and intake sit outside it. HAQQ ships them in the same platform.

What "exclusively" buys, and what it costs

GenIA-L for Search states its own design in one sentence: it is "la première IA générative utilisant des contenus juridiques fiables" and it generates an answer "en se référant exclusivement aux bases de données juridiques Lefebvre Dalloz". That word, exclusively, is the whole product. It is why the tool is dependable on French law, and it is also the reason it has nothing to say about a Saudi data-protection question or a DIFC employment clause. This is a deliberate trade, not a gap someone forgot to fill, and a French firm should read it as a feature.

The output format is genuinely well designed and worth naming properly: a structured synthesis, a table of use cases with the rules that apply to each, a plain-language explanation aimed at non-lawyers, follow-up questions with answers, the legal sources behind the answer, and a checklist of points to watch. Very few legal AI products have thought this carefully about what a lawyer actually wants back from a query, and the plain-language output in particular is a real asset for client communication.

, verificat 2026-09-14

The answer is scoped to what you subscribe to

This is the detail that does not appear in the marketing and does appear in the contract, and it is the single most useful thing to know before an evaluation. GenIA-L's terms of use define "Fonds Documentaires" as the perimeter of the subscriptions the client has taken out, and state that it is on that basis that the AI module produces its syntheses. The answer set is therefore your subscription, not the publisher's library. Two firms can put the same question to GenIA-L and get materially different answers because they bought different tiers.

The same terms disclose a monthly query allowance without publishing the number: unused queries do not roll over and are not refundable, and exceeding the allowance can lead to access restrictions or additional billing. None of this makes GenIA-L a bad product, it is a normal publisher licensing model, but it means a pilot needs to be run on the subscription you would actually buy, and that per-seat cost is not fully knowable from the outside.

, verificat 2026-09-14

Read the marketing and the terms together

Lefebvre Dalloz markets GenIA-L against the "risque d'hallucination" it attributes to general-purpose AI, on the strength of a corpus validated by its editorial teams. That is a fair pitch and the grounding is real. Its binding terms of use, however, ask the client to acknowledge that given the technologies employed, the content of the syntheses "ne saurait être considéré comme exempt d’erreurs ou approximations issues des traitements algorithmiques", cannot be considered free of errors or approximations arising from algorithmic processing.

We do not read that as dishonesty; every vendor in this category, ourselves included, ships a model that can be wrong, and putting it in the contract is more candid than most. We flag it because the two documents are usually read separately, and a buyer comparing vendors on their marketing pages alone will draw a sharper distinction between grounded and ungrounded tools than either company's lawyers would defend. Grounding narrows the failure mode; it does not remove it. The honest question to ask any vendor here, us included, is not "can it hallucinate" but "can I check it", which is why every answer should arrive with a source you can open.

Where the two products actually differ

GenIA-L for Search is a research module. Its own terms describe it as producing syntheses in response to queries against a documentary corpus, and we found no mention anywhere on its pages of matter management, time tracking, client intake, invoicing or a document management system. That is not a criticism, it is not trying to be those things, and a French firm that already runs a practice-management suite may simply not need them from this vendor.

HAQQ is built the other way round: multi-jurisdiction research across 200+ countries, multilingual including Arabic, connected to matters, a persistent knowledge base and billing in one platform. The choice between the two is rarely about which model is smarter. It is about whether your practice lives inside French law and inside a Lefebvre Dalloz subscription, in which case GenIA-L is a strong, well-built answer, or whether it crosses borders and languages, where a single-publisher corpus is a ceiling no amount of model quality raises.

    Which one should you pick?

    Choose GenIA-L for Search

    • Your practice is French law, and you already pay for Dalloz, Navis/Inneo or ELnet/Solution, GenIA-L is reached through those subscriptions, so the marginal cost and the change-management cost are both low.
    • You want answers grounded in a single, editorially maintained corpus with the commentary attached, rather than a model reasoning over open web sources.
    • You value the output format specifically: the use-case table, the plain-language explanation for non-lawyers, and the "points de vigilance" checklist are unusually well thought through and genuinely useful for client work.
    • You want a French vendor under French law and French jurisdiction, hosted in Europe, from a publisher with a very long institutional track record.

    Choose HAQQ

    • Your work crosses borders. GenIA-L answers exclusively from Lefebvre Dalloz's French databases; HAQQ is built for 200+ countries, including MENA jurisdictions no European publisher covers.
    • You need Arabic, or any language beyond French, every GenIA-L for Search page we could reach was French-only, with no language switcher.
    • You want the answer set to be the law rather than your subscription tier. HAQQ's coverage does not narrow because of which plan you bought.
    • You want practice management, a persistent knowledge base and billing in the same platform as the research, rather than a research module you wire into separate firm software.

    Switching from GenIA-L for Search

GenIA-L is bundled into a publisher subscription rather than sold as a standalone seat, which changes what "switching" means: the decision is usually whether to keep the underlying Dalloz, Navis or ELnet subscription for its content and drop the AI layer, or to replace both. Many firms keep the publisher subscription, the commentary has value independent of the AI, and run HAQQ alongside it for cross-border work.

    1. Separate the two questions: is it the AI layer you are replacing, or the underlying content subscription? They renew on the same contract but do not have to be answered the same way.
    2. Export the syntheses and research trails your team wants to keep before the subscription lapses, since they are generated inside the platform.
    3. Check your renewal date and the query allowance in your contract, the monthly cap is not published, so read your own terms rather than the website.
    4. Run the jurisdictions GenIA-L cannot reach as the pilot for HAQQ. That is where the difference is decidable, rather than on French-law questions where GenIA-L is strong.

    The verdict

GenIA-L for Search is a well-built research layer over an excellent French corpus, bounded by that corpus and by the subscription you bought; HAQQ trades single-publisher depth for 200+ country coverage and a full practice OS.

Best for: French practices already subscribing to Dalloz, Navis/Inneo or ELnet/Solution whose work stays inside French law.

    Întrebări frecvente

    What is GenIA-L for Search?

It is Lefebvre Dalloz's generative-AI research layer, launched over its existing French legal databases. It answers a natural-language legal question with a structured synthesis, a use-case table, a plain-language explanation, related questions, the legal sources behind the answer, and a list of "points de vigilance". It is reached through an existing Dalloz, Navis/Inneo or ELnet/Solution subscription rather than sold standalone.

Does GenIA-L cover law outside France?

Lefebvre Dalloz's own description says GenIA-L answers "en se référant exclusivement aux bases de données juridiques Lefebvre Dalloz", exclusively from its own legal databases, which are French. The wider Lefebvre Sarrut group has sister publishers in Spain, Belgium, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK, but we found no statement that this product reaches their law. HAQQ is built for 200+ countries, including MENA.

How much does GenIA-L for Search cost?

Lefebvre Dalloz publishes no standalone price for GenIA-L for Search, access is bundled into an existing subscription, and its terms disclose a monthly query allowance that can trigger restrictions or additional billing when exceeded, without publishing the number. Other SKUs in the GenIA-L line are priced publicly: GenIA-L Avocat lists "Dès 213,00 € HT/mois", noting the price depends on the options chosen.

Is GenIA-L for Search the same as GenIA-L Avocat?

No. GenIA-L is a product line with ten audience-specific SKUs, Avocat, Direction Juridique, DAF, RH, Expert-comptable, Entreprise, Notaire, Secteur Public, CSE and HSE. GenIA-L for Search is the research layer reached through an existing Dalloz, Navis/Inneo or ELnet/Solution subscription. They are priced and packaged differently, so a quoted price for one says nothing about the other.

Which model does GenIA-L run on?

Lefebvre Dalloz does not name a model provider anywhere we could find, and its terms of use expressly reserve the right to change the supplier of the AI module at its discretion. That is a reasonable commercial position, but it does mean the underlying model is not a fixed part of what you are buying.

    Is GenIA-L hosted in Europe?

Its legal notices state the site is hosted exclusively on European datacentres, in Ireland, on Amazon Web Services. The broader GenIA-L marketing makes a wider claim about the infrastructure, application and LLM all being hosted in Europe. If European hosting is a hard requirement for you, get the scope of that claim confirmed in writing for the specific SKU you are buying.

Does GenIA-L do contract review or document drafting?

GenIA-L for Search is defined in its own terms as a module producing syntheses in response to queries, research rather than document work. Lefebvre Dalloz sells document analysis as a separately priced add-on on other SKUs in the line. If contract review is the job to be done, confirm which SKU and which add-on you are actually being quoted for.
