Syllo was founded in 2019 by two practicing litigation attorneys, CEO Jeffrey Chivers and COO/CSO Theodore Rostow, both Yale Law lecturers, together with two Carnegie Mellon University engineers; MIT-trained Amy Slagle joined as CTO in 2023. That pedigree shows up in its customer list: Ballard Spahr, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, Mayer Brown, and Outten & Golden are named users, and Quinn Emanuel co-authored a white paper with Syllo on its agentic document-review system.

Ballard Spahr moved to a firm-wide rollout of Syllo's Litigation Agent in August 2026, a genuine signal of enterprise-level trust from a large US firm rather than a pilot that stalled.

Syllo's Agentic Issue Tagging feature, released in 2024, claims 99% precision and 20x the throughput of traditional document review. That's a vendor-published figure, not an independently audited one, a limitation Syllo shares with essentially every AI legal-tech accuracy claim in this category, HAQQ's own included.

Syllo is SOC 2 Type II certified across security, confidentiality, availability, and privacy, with third-party validation from Prescient Assurance, real security assurance, even where the accuracy numbers themselves remain self-reported.
